My goal is to produce great images that you will love and to make sure you get to have fun along the way. An obvious consideration when you choose a photographer is: do you like their work? Hopefully you are reading this because you like what I do and want to know a bit more about it.
your bespoke photography
As your photographer, I apply my vision and experience to create your images. What you wear, where we go, the lighting, time of day and even the moods of everyone are all combined to make photos that I want you to display proudly on your walls.
I will give you 100% focus and attention to detail. You are making a choice to experience a bespoke service without the constraints of a studio. To achieve this high standard of quality takes time and commitment to deliver a superior product for you.
There are no shortage of photographers to choose from, offering differing styles, products and levels of quality. I encourage you to make a choice based on who offers the right approach and products for you. My clients come back to me knowing they will always receive exceptional service and images. But don’t just take my word for it, read some comments here.
I mainly shoot in black and white. Back in the days of film that was always my favourite way to work. Nowadays although I’m completely digital, black and white is still what I love and my clients tell me they do too. We see the world in colour; in black and white the soul.
where do we go?
It’s your photo shoot so you decide on the location. It may start at your home or we can go to the beach, a park, rural field or other place that you enjoy as a family. All are ideal to capture your family’s personalities and what makes you special.
when do sessions take place?
Not working from a studio means we are not limited by time. I like to start early – during or after breakfast – and spend the morning together. This gives us plenty of time to play, relax, snack, nap or whatever else you want to do. Indoors, outdoors or both – even if it’s raining. If you don’t mind; I don’t mind.
bumps & newborns
Pregnancy and newborn photographs are a brief opportunity to record of your precious little bundle. They also require particular special care and attention. Babies grow up fast and newborn photography is best in the first 5-10 days. You may feel there is a lot to be getting used to at this time but it’s worth the effort to create photographs of your little one.
All pregnancy and baby portraits take place at your home. I have a young baby myself and believe it is essential to remain in the comfort and security of home, without hassles and time restrictions.
I work with patience and care around your schedules to ensure all stay relaxed and happy. It could take several hours – particularly with newborns – to ensure we get great images with no stress for baby or mum.
what happens after the portrait shoot?
Creating your photography does not stop when the camera clicks. Your photos are carefully edited and processed individually by me to obtain the quality you deserve and expect. It is part of the service to remove any unwanted spots, scratches or blemishes. Other grazes or bumps normally get left alone – that’s childhood. Your images will be ready to view or print when they have been worked on meticulously to look their best.
After your portrait shoot I will contact you to arrange a viewing session on my large, super high-definition screen. This can be arranged at a time which suits you and and there will be a cup of tea or glass of wine waiting. I will show you examples of frames and canvasses and discuss ideas for how to display your images. A ten per cent discount is available if you place your order at the time of viewing.
After your viewing session, your images will be added to a password-protected online gallery where they can be viewed and any additional orders placed. Other family members always appreciate this.
Can I buy the photographs on disc?
You can buy digital files on disc and are able to take these to any lab or photo service for printing. You may reproduce the images for your own personal use and share with family or friends. The copyright to all images is always retained by me.
How much does all this cost?
This bespoke service is made affordable with portrait sessions from £175 and unframed print prices starting at just £25. Most clients spend between £300 and £1500 on a combination of framed wall prints, canvasses and digital files.
When clients recommend me to their friends, family and colleagues, I like to say thank you with £50 credit to spend on any of my products.
